The House

Where Ceremony Continues.

16 Matcha is an independently owned tea house specializing in ceremonial-grade matcha and specialty powdered teas. For more than five years, we have traveled across Japan’s most storied tea regions — Uji, Shizuoka, Kagoshima, Fukuoka, and Aichi — in search of the finest matcha the country has to offer.

That search has taken us through countless matcha cafés and tasting sessions, private cuppings, and hours spent with chashi — master tea blenders — refining our palate and our standards. We’ve sat through tea programs, studied blending philosophies, and learned to recognize the difference between matcha that is simply good and matcha that is worthy of ceremony.

One of our mission is to bring matchas from trusted manufacturers and tea blenders in Japan, and to offer their craft through 16 Matcha — whether by the tin, by the cup, or through private-label partnerships with wholesale accounts who share our standard of quality.

Every offering exists to be worth the visit. We believe a great matcha shouldn’t just meet expectations — it should give someone a reason to return. Alongside our ceremonial-grade selections, we’re expanding into specialty powdered teas and artisanal micro-ground varieties, honoring the growing craft at the edges of tradition while staying rooted in it.

We do not imitate Japan. We continue its philosophy — one tin, one cup, one ceremony at a time. - Where Ceremony Continues.
